How to Make Wudu

Niyyah and Dua

 

Make the intention in your heard for wudu (no need to say it out loud).

Say Bismillah (before starting). If in the washroom, say in your heart.

Washing the Hands

 

Wash both hands up to the wrists 3 times (start with the right).

Rinsing the Mouth

 

Rinse the mouth 3 times

Rinsing the Nose

 

Rinse the nose 3 times and blow it out. 

*Rinsing mouth and nose can also be done together.

Washing the Face

 

Wash the face 3 times. 

(hairline to chin, ear to ear)

Washing the Arms

 

Wash the arms, including the hands, up to and including the elbows three times.

(first the right arm, then the left arm)

Wiping the Head

 

Wipe the head once (Masah): With wet hands, wipe from the front of the head to the back and then return to the front.

Then wipe the ears, inside and outside, commonly using the same wet hands.

Washing the Feet

 

Wash the feet up to the ankles 3 times.

(right foot, then left foot-make sure water reaches between the toes)

Duas after Wudu

 

أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلٰهَ إِلَّا اللّٰهُ وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيْكَ لَهُ،
وَأَشْهَدُ أَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا عَبْدُهُ وَرَسُوْلُهُ
 
I bear witness that there is no god except Allah alone, with no partner, and I bear witness that Muhammad ﷺ is His servant and Messenger.
 
اللَّهُمَّ اجْعَلْنِي مِنَ التَّوَّابِينَ
وَاجْعَلْنِي مِنَ الْمُتَطَهِّرِينَ
 
O Allah, make me among those who constantly repent and make me among those who purify themselves.
